For two years, this bike sat patiently waiting for its turn to shine. Like many of my other bikes, I found this one on Craigslist. The owner was a Harley mechanic, people calls him Pete. I knew Pete was kinda surprised when an Asian dude showed up to his doorstep asking about a Harley. Within 5 min into our conversation, Pete and I clicked right away. We were talking the same language. Motorcycle language. Pete had a few other bikes for sale but I wanted the oddest of 'em all. Royal blue with the purple flames, yup, that's the one. We pushed the bike out to the street to get ready for the test ride. At that moment, I realized why people call em "hogs", it's cuz they're heavy as fook. On the test ride, my mind was already deep in thoughts of chopping this pig and making her skinny. I already knew I was going to buy the bike once I saw the ad so everything else was just a cherry on top. As expected from a Harley mechanic, the bike ran like an iron horse. A deal was made and both parties were happy. My first Harley Davidson, left it collecting dust while I built Rusty for Born Free 7. Throw back to the bike that ignited the spark to my chopping world. It was a 2003 Honda Rebel that I scooted around to beat traffic in San Francisco. I kept it stock for about a week before making it my own. At the time, I had no idea what I was doing. I only knew that it had to be customed. The Internet was my greatest tool. Forums and Google Images gave me ideas of how I wanted my bike to turn out. Fenders were the first to go. Black out the rims. Mini apes from @tcbros. I found a small lamp sitting in the garage and turned that into my taillight. Chopped up a skateboard and used it as a seat. The most essential mod was to make the bike sound meaner. I decided to chop the exhaust pipes. Granted, it sounded cooler but without rejetting, my bike ran like shit. I rode on the freeway from San Jose back to San Francisco and I seriously thought the bike was going to explode. This was a fun bike and I had a great time with it until I rode my buddy @hautran_04 VLX 600. The power difference was enough to convince me to upgrade. The Rebel was soon sold and I picked up a Honda Shadow from @rustinpeace817.
